Today I will tell you about sports in Finland and since I have come here in midwinter, it will include sports on ice and snow.
First I will talk about the one that I have enjoyed the most, which is alpine skiing / downhill skiing (a category of slalom) which is the recreation of sliding down snow-covered hills on skis with fixed-heel bindings. In my case I went to a slalom skiing resort for the first time on a school trip to Messilä and it was pretty fun, although it was quite difficult at the beginning. Now, talking about skiing, skiing on the Loviisa ski tour, even though it was not very exciting, I had a nice time learning, and falling. By the way  before I forget about it, I would like to mention that most Finnish child learn to ski, skate and swim at an early age, as they are activities they will have later on at school.
When it comes to group sports  ice skating or go sledding with a sledge (or pulka in Swedish) are really good options. Either the first one on frozen lakes or ice rinks or the second one on a slightly leaning place,  the both are very appealing leisure activities. As a matter of fact, I skated for the first time here, as I would go skating with the school and I needed a "basis", so to speak. So the family took me to an ice rink and a few weeks after when we had this week with other exchange students, I showed my skills (not very good yet though) and that same week, we made good use of our pulkor too.
